Living requirements change over the course of a lifetime. Sometimes more space is needed, sometimes less. Sometimes a change of location comes into focus. This is precisely where Sonnleitner's modular timber house concept comes in, which will be presented at Heim und Handwerk 2022 in Munich.
The so-called Vision 2030 describes a house that grows with its residents - or can be deliberately made smaller again. Instead of building large from the outset, you start with a single module that covers current needs. Further modules can be added later without the existing building losing its function or quality.
A special aspect of modular construction is the ability to move the entire house. The individual modules are designed in such a way that they remain transportable. If a move is imminent, the timber house can be reassembled at a different location.
All modules are manufactured individually according to customer requirements and are made entirely of solid wood. Two patented wall systems are used: TWINLIGNA and MONOLIGNA. Both consistently use wood wool as the insulating material and do not use synthetic insulating materials.
Wood plays a central role in the wall construction. The construction is open to diffusion, allowing moisture to be absorbed and released again. This property contributes to a balanced indoor climate, especially in winter.
The modular timber house system is not limited to detached houses. It is also used for commercial buildings, commercial buildings and residential construction. Regardless of the area of application, each project is planned and implemented individually.
At Heim+Handwerk, Sonnleitner's modular timber house demonstrates how sustainable house construction and flexible life planning can be combined. Growth, change and even relocation are already taken into account - without compromising on quality or living comfort.
