Info about the Stuttgart trade fair

The New Stuttgart Trade Fair Center in the state capital of Baden-Württemberg is operated by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, or LMS for short. It was officially opened in 2007. National and international trade fairs had previously been held at the old Killesberg exhibition grounds for over 50 years. Today's exhibition grounds are located ten kilometers south of Stuttgart city centre in the district of Esslingen. It is well connected to the road and rail networks and Stuttgart Airport. The trade fair can also be reached quickly from Esslingen, Reutlingen and Tübingen. The eighth largest German trade fair has an exhibition area of 120,000 square meters. The company employs around 360 permanent staff. The heart of Messe Stuttgart is the International Congress Center ICS on the Messepiazza. It is surrounded by seven halls measuring over 10,000 square meters, the Paul Horn Hall and a high-rise hall. The latter also hosts sporting and cultural events. The trade fair also has a five-storey parking garage with space for 4,200 vehicles. In addition to international trade fairs, Messe Stuttgart also hosts numerous public events.

Leading trade fairs of international importance in Stutgart include AMB, Blechexpo, Control, Intergeo and LogiMAT. An important trade fair event in January is Caravan, Motor and Tourism (CMT). Retro Classics, a car show for classic cars, takes place in spring and attracts thousands of visitors, mainly from southern Germany and Switzerland. Other trade fairs in spring include Garten outdoor .ambiente, the slow food fair Markt des guten Geschmacks, Yogaworld, Fair Handeln, Haus | Holz | Energie and Mineralien, Fossilien and Schmuck. This is followed by numerous fall trade fairs such as Familie und Heim or Animal and Comic Con Germany at the end of November.
