A children's playhouse two meters high? At Heim+Handwerk 2022, Isidor will be showcasing a playhouse for the garden that goes far beyond classic play towers. Generously dimensioned, versatile and visually reminiscent of a small house, it is aimed at children with lots of imagination - and will accompany them for many years to come.
The children's playhouse at the booth at Heim und Handwerk is visually reminiscent of a Scandinavian-style tiny house, but is consistently geared towards the needs of children. The Big Woody model offers an area of around 5 m² in the upper section and therefore looks more like a small retreat than a pure play structure. At the trade fair, the exhibit is painted blue and white, inspired by Munich and Bavaria. At the same time, it is clear that there are virtually no limits to creative freedom. Many children design the color of their house themselves or change it over time.
The playhouse stands on stilts and can be built with a platform height of up to two meters. This creates an elevated play area with a view, which is particularly appealing to children. Compared to classic play towers or tree houses, the house is significantly larger. An important aspect is the long service life. The stilt house grows with the children and remains interesting even for older children and teenagers. The trade fair will even show how the house can be repurposed later on - for example as a small chicken house or retreat in the garden.
The playhouse can be supplemented with various elements. Balconies, slides or stairs extend the range of uses and provide variety in everyday play. Depending on the structure, a place for climbing, hiding, observing or retreating is created. Thanks to its clear basic shape, the house remains flexible. Extensions can be integrated depending on the available space and requirements without changing the basic concept.
The children's playhouse is supplied as a kit. Isidor offers an assembly service, which is frequently used for the larger play towers in particular. At the same time, self-assembly is also possible and deliberately designed to be easy to implement with manual skills. A team of two to three people can assemble the playhouse in around four days, often even faster. For many families, the assembly itself is already part of the project and helps them to identify with the playhouse.
The playhouse is not limited to a specific use. It can be a playroom, retreat, observation post or fantasy world. Thanks to its size and design, it invites children to develop their own ideas and use the space in new ways again and again. It is precisely this open approach that makes the playhouse so appealing and explains why it often accompanies children for many years.
