The B50 ADT is the flagship of Bell's articulated dump truck series. The 6x6 dumper has been in use for over two decades and has established itself as a powerful, technologically leading machine in the 50-tonne class. 21 years of further development in the European market

The B50 ADT was launched on the European market over 20 years ago. Since then, the articulated dump truck has been continuously developed and has established itself as a reliable solution for heavy-duty applications. It is equipped with a powerful Mercedes-Benz engine and an Allison automatic transmission - a combination that stands for reliability, tractive power and low maintenance.

Another key feature: the dumper's extremely wide 875 tires distribute the load over a large area and enable it to be used even in poor ground conditions. The large contact area reduces the ground pressure and ensures good traction - even on soft ground.

Technology carrier for autonomous systems and assistance functions

Bell has designed the B50 ADT as a technologically future-proof dumper. Numerous functions are already integrated as standard, such as an on-board weighing system that measures the load in real time. The dumper is also prepared for autonomous driving systems, collision avoidance and PDS solutions. The system architecture makes it easy to retrofit assistance technologies.

The manufacturer describes the B50 as a "technology mule" - i.e. a carrier platform for new systems that has already served as a test vehicle for digitalization and automation on many occasions. This makes the dumper one of the best-prepared machines in its class when it comes to integrating modern technologies.

Braking system, safety and operation well thought out

As an articulated vehicle, the B50 has a separate front and rear chassis. All three axles are equipped with fully wet brakes. Braking is decelerated directly via brake discs on the axles - a solution that enables even deceleration under high loads and reduces wear.

The safety concept also includes an anti-tip function ("Tip Safe") as standard: If the body is tilted by more than 15 %, it cannot be lifted - this prevents the body from tipping over. In addition, the automatic turbo spin-down function ensures that the turbocharger is properly cooled down when the engine is switched off.

Uniform cab technology across the entire dumper series

An advantage for operators: The cab of the B50 is identical to all other articulated dumpers from Bell - from the 20-tonne to the 50-tonne class. This ensures a uniform operating environment and makes it easier to switch between different models in the fleet. All controls are in the same place and the layout is the same throughout.

The cab features a centrally integrated screen - which also displays the image from the reversing camera - and a fully sealed control pad. All functions can be operated with the right hand. Bell has deliberately dispensed with separate switches or side controls in order to minimize susceptibility to dirt, dust and moisture.

Economical thanks to low fuel consumption

When it comes to a 50-tonne dump truck, operating costs count - above all fuel consumption. The B50 ADT is particularly efficient in this respect: according to the manufacturer, it is the most fuel-efficient dumper in its class. Optimized engine control and intelligent consumption monitoring noticeably reduce diesel consumption and significantly reduce the costs per transported tonne of material.

Fully equipped dumper - as standard

A strong argument for operators: the B50 comes with comprehensive standard equipment ex works. In addition to the weighing technology, this also includes the in-house telematics system "Fleetm@tic". It is included in all new machines at no additional cost. The data can be called up directly in the cab - as can diagnostics and system statuses.

This full equipment applies to all Bell ADT models: if you buy a smaller model, you get the same functions as in the B50. This not only makes the fleet more uniform, but also lowers the entry barrier for smaller machines.

Comfort and maintenance in the driver's cab

In addition to its technical functionality, the dumper also impresses with its ergonomic features: a fully adjustable seat with 3-point harness, electric hood opening and a well thought-out cab structure for easy cleaning and maintenance. Machine diagnostics can be carried out directly via the central display - without additional devices or external software.

Two plants for global production and regional proximity

Bell produces the B50 ADT in two of its own plants: the main plant in Richards Bay (South Africa) and the European plant in Eisenach (Germany). While Richards Bay serves global demand, the German plant specifically supplies the northern hemisphere. Decentralized production means that delivery times can be shortened and regional adaptations can be implemented efficiently.

Global sales with a focus on product support

The Bell B50 ADT is used worldwide - in North America, Europe, Africa, Australia and South America. After-sales support is particularly important to the manufacturer: all sales regions are organized to provide service, spare parts and technical support in a timely manner - even when used in remote areas.
