bauma 2025 kicked off today with an official opening at the Messe München exhibition center. The leading international trade fair for construction, building materials and mining machinery is once again all about technological innovations, resource efficiency and future solutions for the construction industry.
Speakers at the opening included Klara Geywitz, Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Construction, and Munich's Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter. Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel, the two Managing Directors of Messe München, also emphasized the role of bauma as a platform for progress and international cooperation in their speeches.
Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery, attended on behalf of Prime Minister Markus Söder, who was unable to attend due to the ongoing coalition negotiations in Berlin. Herrmann emphasized the economic importance of the trade fair for Bavaria and far beyond.
The opening was followed by a tour of the extensive exhibition grounds. The first stops provided an insight into the technical innovations that will be the focus of the trade visitors' meeting in the coming days.
