BB Poolsystems is based in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe and combines two clearly defined divisions under one roof: swimming pool covers and prefabricated stainless steel pools. Both divisions follow the same standards - technical precision, a high level of vertical integration and a level of quality that deliberately sets them apart from the market. Production takes place entirely in Baden, which is an important signal for many customers: short distances, controlled processes and a clear focus on craftsmanship and industrial quality.
A central point in the development of stainless steel pools is the way they are manufactured. In the early days, stainless steel pools were welded from individual sheets directly on site - a time-consuming process that could take weeks. This phase is history at BB Poolsystems. Today, prefabricated pools are completely manufactured in the factory and delivered in one piece. Pools several meters long can be transported by truck or low-loader, installed and connected on site. The pool is moved, piped and can theoretically be put into operation within a short time. For builders, this means much easier planning and less stress on the construction site.
Specializing in “one-piece” pools places high demands on design and production. BB Poolsystems attaches particular importance to details that play a major role in subsequent operation. These include delicate weld seams, large stainless steel sheets without additional joints and carefully crafted transitions. Right-angled edges are deliberately avoided to make cleaning and maintenance easier. Even cleaning robots should be able to reach every surface without any problems. The quality is not demonstrated on a small scale, but deliberately shown in real dimensions - a large pool conveys a different understanding than a scaled-down sample.
Stainless steel is initially viewed critically by some interested parties. There is often concern that the material could be cold, hard or unpleasant. A comparison with tiled basins quickly puts this assessment into perspective. Mosaic tiles create edges and joints at short intervals, which are significantly harder than a continuously smooth stainless steel surface. The homogeneous surface not only appears smoother, but also reduces potential weak points. In practice, stainless steel is neither uncomfortable nor problematic - on the contrary, many people find the surface pleasant and of high quality.
There is no general answer to the question of price when it comes to pools. The decisive factor is a comparison at the same quality level. High-quality plastic pools with solid wall thicknesses, elaborate fittings or additional mosaic tiling are already in a segment that comes close to stainless steel. The pure pool price may be higher for stainless steel, but this is put into perspective in the overall project. Technology, installation parts and infrastructure incur comparable costs regardless of the material. In the overall calculation, the additional price for stainless steel shrinks significantly.
Many clients specifically opt for a prefabricated stainless steel pool from industrial production. The decisive factors here are above all
