Meranus, based in Haan, has been firmly anchored in the pool industry for several decades. As a pure wholesaler, the company consistently focuses on the specialist trade and deliberately refrains from doing business with end customers. This clear positioning characterizes the company's self-image: Meranus supplies trade businesses, swimming pool builders and projects in the public sector - always via the trade, never directly to private builders. The role is thus clearly defined and at the same time closely linked to practice on construction sites and in complex projects.
What sets Meranus apart from many pure distributors is its strong focus on consulting. Its expertise lies not only in the product range, but above all in project support. Specialist companies receive support in the selection, combination and integration of components. The aim is to create a technically coherent solution for different requirements and to give products a “home” in the truest sense of the word - in the garden, in the plant room or in larger systems. This proximity to practical applications is also reflected in product development and composition.
A particular focus is currently on a filter box that is deliberately designed as a complete system. The principle of a compact technology box is not new, but the way it is implemented is. The filter box bundles central pool technology in a high-quality, garden-compatible shell and at the same time provides an overview of the Meranus service portfolio. The aim: technology should be functional, clear and easy to integrate into the design - without improvised solutions or hidden makeshift solutions.
Several components come together in the box, which are coordinated with each other. The filter comes from Fluidra, which is also the parent company of Meranus. The system is supplemented by a pump, measurement and control technology and a control system. Everything is installed in a sturdy, high-quality box that looks good even in demanding garden environments. This makes technology not only functional, but also acceptable in terms of design - an aspect that is becoming increasingly important in the private sphere.
The filter solution is called Europa ProLong and is deliberately configured to a high standard. Instead of the minimum standard, proven, high-performance components have been used. These include a filter with a transparent cover, which makes ongoing operation visible and facilitates monitoring. There is also a speed-controlled pump that combines efficiency and quiet running. A Speck model was chosen, which is currently regarded as a reference product. The system is complemented by modern measurement and control technology including salt electrolysis, which is in high demand on the market.
A central element is the higher-level control system, which ensures that all components work together reliably. It coordinates pump performance, water treatment and dosing. In regular operation, this also includes pH regulation, which was not actively shown at the trade fair for safety reasons. In everyday use, however, it is an integral part of the system. The concept shows that it is not about individual parts, but about stable, maintenance-friendly overall operation.
With this solution, Meranus has clearly positioned itself between classic wholesale and systemic project support. The filter box is emblematic of this approach: technology is not only supplied, but also brought together in a meaningful way. For specialist companies, this means less coordination work, clearly defined interfaces and a solution that can be integrated both technically and visually. In an industry where efficiency, energy use and ease of use are becoming increasingly important, this shows how wholesalers can create added value beyond pure logistics.
