Leapmotor electric car celebrates its world premiere at the IAA 2025

With an impressive appearance at the IAA 2025, Leapmotor is presenting two models that underline the ambitions of the young Chinese car brand. Still relatively new on the German market, Leapmotor is already one of the fastest growing electric brands from China. In August, 850 vehicles were sold - a remarkable figure that illustrates the brand's potential. The B10, a compact SUV with family-friendly features, and the B05, a hatchback model celebrating its premiere, will take center stage at the trade fair in Munich.

Leapmotor B10 - compact SUV with range and comfort

The Leapmotor B10 is aimed at the highly competitive C-segment. With an entry-level price of just under 30,000 euros and a fully equipped version under 35,000 euros, it offers an attractive price-performance ratio. The vehicle impresses with a range of up to 434 kilometers, a digital cockpit and a total of 17 assistance systems, which are already included in the price. There are also 22 storage compartments, which make the interior particularly practical, as well as a modern, uncluttered design. Seats made of Ökotex-certified imitation leather underline the claim to sustainability. A panoramic roof ensures a generous feeling of space, while the spacious rear bench offers enough room even for longer journeys with four to five people.

Interior with digital operating concept

In the B10, Leapmotor consistently relies on a digital control concept. There are hardly any buttons to be found, instead a large display dominates, reminiscent of the user interface of a smartphone. Numerous apps, a 360-degree camera and the extensive assistance systems turn the interior into a state-of-the-art workplace on wheels. The large number of driver assistance systems in this price range in particular clearly sets the model apart from many of its competitors.

Leapmotor B05 - new hatchback model

In addition to the B10, Leapmotor is presenting another vehicle from the C-segment, the B05, which is not positioned as an SUV but as a classic hatchback model. The interior is still under wraps and the vehicle will only be presented from the outside. Nevertheless, the B05 marks an important addition to the model range with which Leapmotor is entering the center of the European automotive market - in direct competition with established manufacturers. Here too, the brand is focusing on a strong price-performance ratio, which should increase its appeal to European customers.

Dealer network and market strategy in Germany

A key success factor for Leapmotor is the rapid expansion of the sales network. Over 110 dealers have been acquired in Germany within a very short space of time. The aim is to ensure that no customer needs more than 25 minutes to drive to the nearest dealer. This facilitates access to the vehicles and strengthens confidence in the still young brand. Leapmotor is supported by its affiliation with the Stellantis Group and its close partnership with Opel. This connection creates access to existing structures and resources that will significantly accelerate market entry.

Competitive environment and future prospects

The German automotive market is one of the toughest competitive environments in the world. Leapmotor aims to win customers through both price advantages and technical features. With a clear focus on electromobility, sustainability and digital solutions, the brand is positioning itself as a modern alternative in the growing e-vehicle segment. The appearance at the IAA 2025 makes it clear that Leapmotor is not only focusing on attracting attention in the short term, but also wants to establish itself as a permanent fixture in Europe in the long term.
