SportAtrium creates spaces that get people moving – consciously, playfully, and without any pressure. In times when lack of exercise is on the rise, the company transforms public spaces into places that promote activity and strengthen community. The approach combines sports science findings with attractive design. Exercise should be fun again, regardless of age or fitness level. The goal is clear: exercise should not feel forced, but should arise from curiosity. Colors, shapes, and materials are used specifically to attract attention. Where people used to walk by without a second glance, they now stop, try things out, and discover the joy of exercise.
One example of this approach is the collaboration between SportAtrium and Eurotramp. Together, they created the BounceCloud—a trampoline module that promotes movement and makes jumping and bouncing a natural part of public spaces. This element combines playful ease with athletic functionality and appeals to children, teenagers, and adults alike. Jumping is considered one of the most elementary forms of movement: it activates almost all muscle groups, improves coordination, and provides immediate enjoyment. Such elements create an environment that not only enables movement but actively encourages it—without the pressure to train, but with clear results.
SportAtrium focuses on the so-called inviting character – movement should arise from curiosity. Instead of inconspicuous equipment, the company uses targeted color and shape design that attracts attention and intuitively invites people to participate. Bright colors and clear structures signal activity and create incentives to move – especially for children and young people, who often lack motivation. The focus is not on performance, but on experience: jumping, hopping, balancing, or climbing promote movement and motor skills in a playful way.
In contrast to conventional concepts, SportAtrium does not plan isolated equipment, but complete movement landscapes. The focus is on combining several modules that complement each other. Instead of linear fitness trails, modular islands with different focuses are created: for example, for motor skills, sensorimotor skills, balance, strength, or group training. These movement islands are strategically placed at junctions in public spaces, creating meeting points for exercise and social interaction. People of all generations come together – exercise becomes a shared experience. SportAtrium thus expands the concept of a sports facility to include a social and creative dimension.
Every SportAtrium project is based on sports science principles. Resilience, training effectiveness, and ergonomics are taken into account in the planning, as is the emotional impact of the design. The concepts are developed in close collaboration with movement scientists and sports educators in order to achieve sustainable activation.
SportAtrium is aimed at local authorities, cities, and clubs that want to integrate exercise into the everyday lives of their citizens. Public spaces, green spaces, and club grounds are transformed into active open spaces by the facilities. Local authorities benefit from barrier-free design and durable construction, while clubs with limited space can create significantly more training opportunities thanks to the multifunctional systems. Instead of limiting sports to a few disciplines, numerous forms of exercise are made possible in the same space – from playful activation to targeted training. This increases the efficiency and attractiveness of public spaces and makes exercise part of the quality of urban life.
