At the trade fair, Berliner Seilfabrik is presenting Villago Beach, a playhouse that combines a leisure feel with functionality. Inspired by the beach and the Caribbean, the facility invites children to climb, romp and relax. The concept shows how modern play space can create a high-quality experience in a limited area, combining design, safety and sustainability.
This year marks a special anniversary: for 160 years, Berliner Seilfabrik has stood for durable, technically sophisticated play equipment. At the trade fair, the company will not only be showcasing new products such as Villago Beach, but also historical equipment to illustrate the development from classic rope construction to modern themed playhouses.
At the heart of the new concept is the combination of spatial nets and play cells. Similar to an indoor playground in the open air, the system allows for climbing routes without a fixed starting or ending point. Children move freely, explore different levels, and choose their own paths. Every climb, every passage becomes an individual adventure. The individual play cells differ in their design – some with rubber mats, others with obstacles or climbing nets.
Every square meter counts, especially in densely populated urban areas. Villago Beach shows how much play value can be created in a limited space. Thanks to its vertical structure and well-thought-out spatial concept, numerous children can fit into the facility at the same time without it feeling cramped. This makes the playhouse an attractive solution for municipalities, schools, and kindergartens that want to create lively play areas with little space requirements.
The Villago system has a modular design and is available in various themed worlds. In addition to the “Beach” beach house, there are variants such as ‘Home’ in the style of a colorful villa with wooden panels, the rural-inspired “Farmhouse,” or the playful “Candy” design as a gingerbread house. Particularly impressive is the “Greenhouse,” an almost transparent playhouse in which the interior itself becomes part of the design – with green ropes, plant motifs, and filigree structures reminiscent of a greenhouse.
Berliner Seilfabrik emphasizes its proven quality in all its developments. Robust materials, precise workmanship, and technical sophistication ensure that the play equipment can be used for decades. Many families experience the generational effect: their children now play on the same structures that their parents knew in their childhood. The company's motto – “We build play equipment for life” – aptly reflects this philosophy. A dense dealer network enables worldwide distribution and fast support. Spare parts, maintenance, and support are guaranteed even after many years – an important aspect for operators of public facilities.
The development of Villago Beach began around two years ago. Initial models such as the farm-style play barn formed the basis. Today, the concept is being implemented in amusement parks, hotel complexes, and municipal playgrounds. The first project is located in the Thüle leisure and animal park near Bremen – an example of the versatility of the system, which works in both public and private spaces. Berliner Seilfabrik's target group is primarily landscape architects, planners, and municipalities who want to design play areas with character. The company sees itself as a partner that realizes ideas with technical expertise and design experience.
