Caravan Salon 2020 first major trade fair since the coronavirus pandemic

The Caravan Salon Düsseldorf from September 4 to 13, 2020 was the first major trade fair event since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. In order to be able to host it, the strictest hygiene conditions had to be observed. All visitors were registered and the number of visitors was limited to 20,000 per day. Masks were compulsory, the aisles were widened from 2.50 m to 5 m and 1600 disinfection stations were available on the site. Naturally, all caravans were also permanently cleaned and disinfected, and only people from one household were allowed to visit them at a time. The good news: the effort was worth it!

Caravans from affordable to luxurious

The Caravan Salon is the most important B2B event for the caravan industry, a presentation platform for innovations, products and services in the sector and the world's largest public trade fair for leisure vehicles and accessories. In September, 350 manufacturers showcased their products on an exhibition area of 200,000 square meters in Düsseldorf. From inexpensive to luxurious, every caravanning enthusiast was able to find something suitable. The Messe.TV team took a look around.

Compact caravans on trend

The compact lifestyle camper from Camping Adventure Papendick makes spontaneous weekend trips a pleasure without much preparation. At Campwerk, you can create space for the whole family with the help of the iKamper roof tent. The Cara Cito caravan from Weinsberg does not require gas cylinders or a gas system - it is simply plugged into the mains. Westfalia impresses with a compact motorhome with a pop-up roof. The Columbus 540D with its particularly powerful solar panel makes travelers self-sufficient.

Caravanning with motorcycle

At Caravan Service Neuhaus we see the dream of every caravanning enthusiast. With a few simple steps, motorcycles weighing up to 250 kg can be transported in the interior of the Racing 300 caravan model. This is the perfect way to combine a vacation in a caravan and a motorcycle vacation. Neither riding pleasure on the bike nor comfort in the caravan or flexible traveling with the caravan are affected.

Luxurious travel with a motorhome

The STX Eila Edition 1. model from Eila embodies a 5-star vacation on 4 wheels. A whole 35 square meters of luxury are available in this impressive vehicle, with the finest interior. It feels as if you are in an elegant hotel suite. Fendt also offers plenty of space in its Bianco aktiv 720 SKDW with sleeping space for up to 6 people. Hobby Caravan has expanded its Ontour model range with the alcove motorhome, bringing a breath of fresh air to the motorhome with new colors.

Caravan Salon 2020: Disciplined visitors, satisfied exhibitors

As Messe.TV was able to find out, the Caravan Salon 2020 was a complete success despite a number of cancellations by manufacturers (350 instead of the usual 600) due to the unpredictable coronavirus situation. Customer meetings could take place in detail, separated by a plexiglass screen. Thanks to wide aisles, the required minimum distance could be easily maintained, and sophisticated hygiene concepts ensured the greatest possible safety. 107,000 disciplined visitors and satisfied exhibitors were delighted with a successful trade fair under the most difficult conditions.
