Every year, Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf provides a stage for new ideas in mobile travel. With the Next 380, a new brand is now stepping into the spotlight for the first time – compact, lightweight, and focused on the essentials. The caravan is aimed at campers who travel with small towing vehicles or electric cars but still want to enjoy a high level of comfort.
The Next 380 has a gross vehicle weight of just 1,000 kilograms. This makes it particularly suitable for drivers who want to travel with smaller cars or electric cars. The caravan fills a gap in the market, particularly with regard to driving license regulations for younger generations, who are only allowed to tow a maximum of 3.5 tons with a B-class driving license.
Despite its compact dimensions of 2.19 meters in width and a manageable length, the Next 380 offers full camping equipment. The interior features a French bed, a seating area, a complete kitchen with a 90-liter refrigerator and freezer compartment, and a bathroom with toilet and washbasin. Extras such as air conditioning, TV mounts, and movers have been deliberately omitted. This model is therefore aimed at campers who do without unnecessary luxury but appreciate basic comfort.
With the Next 380, the manufacturer is appealing to both young camping enthusiasts who are traveling with a caravan for the first time and experienced travelers who have reduced their demands and want to travel in a more minimalist way. The response at the trade fair shows that this combination is well received. Visitors praised the clear focus on a segment that had not been served before – light, compact, yet fully equipped.
With the introduction of Next, Fendt Caravan is expanding its range with a vehicle that deliberately covers a new market segment. Until now, the manufacturer did not have any models in the ultra-light caravan segment. Now it is positioning the Next 380 in an attractive price range: in Germany, the starting price for the standard equipment is €18,900.
The Next 380 combines the requirements of modern mobility with the desire for a reduced but comfortable camping style. Its design makes it equally interesting for newcomers, environmentally conscious travelers, and campers who consciously want to travel more simply. At the Caravan Salon 2025 in Düsseldorf, it marks the start of a new direction in the Fendt Caravan portfolio.
