E-commerce Berlin Expo will have a new home from 2026. In future, the internationally established trade fair will be held at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds. With the change of location, the organiser is responding to the continuous growth of recent years and at the same time creating new spatial and infrastructural conditions for the further development of the event. With E-commerce Berlin Expo, Messe Berlin is expanding its portfolio with another strong B2B format with international reach. After several successful editions in different locations, the move marks a strategic step. E-commerce Berlin Expo is one of the most important meeting places for the digital commerce industry in Europe and is aimed specifically at decision-makers from e-commerce, platform business, marketing, technology and logistics. From 2026, the event is to be further scaled up at the Berlin exhibition grounds and strengthened in its international orientation.

New home for one of Europe's largest e-commerce gatherings

Since its inception in 2016, E-commerce Berlin Expo has established itself as a central platform for B2B e-commerce. The event brings together service providers, retailers, platform operators and technology providers and offers a large exhibition area and an extensive conference programme. The move to Messe Berlin is seen by both sides as the logical next step. The 2025 edition already set new standards: over 12,000 trade visitors, around 150 speakers and almost 300 exhibitors and service providers took part. This development makes it clear that the previous format had reached its spatial limits. The Berlin exhibition grounds now offer significantly larger areas, modern hall structures and an efficient infrastructure to meet the growing interest. The new location is intended to further increase both the number of exhibitors and international participation. The aim is to establish E-commerce Berlin Expo as a permanent fixture in the international trade fair calendar in the long term.

Partnership with a view to further growth

The cooperation between the organiser and Messe Berlin is designed to be long-term. Dr Ralf Kleinhenz, Senior Vice President of Messe Berlin, sees E-commerce Berlin Expo as an event that fits well with the profile of the location in terms of content and strategy. Messe Berlin has been positioning itself for years as a venue for leading international trade fairs and congresses and is specifically expanding its portfolio to include high-growth industry formats. The move is also seen as a milestone by the organisers. The managing directors of E-commerce Berlin Expo, Peter Szczepaniak and Mark Tomaszewski, emphasise the new opportunities offered by the location. Larger spaces, professional trade fair infrastructure and Berlin's international visibility as a business and technology location are expected to support further growth. The next date has already been set: on 17 and 18 February 2026, E-commerce Berlin Expo will take place at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds for the first time. The new location is intended not only to increase the size of the event, but also to further develop the depth of the programme's content.

Significance of the change of location for exhibitors and visitors

The new location opens up additional opportunities for exhibitors. Larger stand areas, better logistics and a professional trade fair environment enable a stronger brand presence and new presentation formats. At the same time, the Berlin exhibition grounds make it easier for international participants to travel to the event thanks to its convenient location and proximity to the airport and rail hubs. Visitors also benefit from the change. The clear hall structure, short distances and an expanded range of services improve the quality of the visitor experience and make it easier to find your way around the exhibition. In addition, the new location creates space for additional networking formats, side events and conference offerings that deepen professional exchange.

E-commerce as a growth driver in the exhibition portfolio

With the E-commerce Berlin Expo, Messe Berlin is specifically strengthening its commitment to digital business models. E-commerce is one of the most dynamic economic segments and is closely linked to topics such as digitalisation, platform economics, artificial intelligence and logistics. The trade fair reflects these developments and offers companies a platform to present innovations and establish business relationships. Berlin plays a special role in this context. As an international centre for start-ups, technology companies and digital business models, the city offers an environment that fits in well with the focus of the expo. Messe Berlin acts as an infrastructural anchor, translating these topics into a professional trade fair format.

Outlook for E-commerce Berlin Expo from 2026

With its move to the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds, E-commerce Berlin Expo is strategically repositioning itself. The change of location is an expression of the event's continued growth and its ambition to develop further in the long term. From 2026, the Expo is set to be not only bigger, but also more international and broader in scope. The partnership between the organiser and Messe Berlin creates the structural conditions for this. For the e-commerce industry, the new location means a central meeting place that facilitates exchange, innovation and business development at a high level.
