The smarter E Europe trade fair in Munich

Four trade fairs, one goal: Connecting, accelerating, and shaping the energy transition

The smarter E Europe is Europe's largest energy industry platform—a combination of four leading trade fairs that together cover the entire spectrum of modern energy supply. Every year in June, the Munich Exhibition Center transforms into a hub for manufacturers, utilities, project developers, investors, municipal utilities, start-ups, and decision-makers from the energy, mobility, and IT sectors. The concept is based on the understanding that the energy transition, mobility transition, and heating transition can only be successful in an integrated system. The platform combines the trade fairs Intersolar Europe (solar energy), ees Europe (energy storage), Power2Drive Europe (e-mobility), and EM-Power Europe (intelligent energy use in industry and buildings) – linked by innovation, sector coupling, and digital intelligence.

Marketplace for tomorrow's energy world

Over 2,500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries will be showcasing the latest solutions for the following areas across 130,000 m² of exhibition space:

  • Photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, floating PV
  • Stationary and mobile energy storage systems (batteries, hydrogen, hybrid solutions)
  • charging infrastructure, e-vehicles, vehicle-to-grid
  • building automation, smart metering, energy management
  • industrial self-supply of electricity, energy contracting
  • grid integration, system services, virtual power plants
  • Digitalization, IoT, platform economies in the energy industry

If you are interested in other trade fairs in the region, you will find a comprehensive overview of the regional event portfolio at Munich Trade Fair.

Four trade fairs – one understanding of the system

The structure of The smarter E Europe is modular yet integrated:

  • Intersolar Europe: Europe's leading trade fair for the solar industry
  • Europe: Europe's largest trade fair for energy storage solutions
  • Power2Drive Europe: Electric mobility, charging infrastructure, fleet management
  • EM-Power Europe: intelligent energy use in industry and buildings

This combination provides a systemic view of the energy markets of the future—decentralized, flexible, digital, and CO₂-neutral.

Science, business, and politics in dialogue

A series of high-profile conferences will be held in parallel with the trade fair—The smarter E Europe Conference. Here, over 400 speakers from the fields of research, practice, and politics will discuss key questions for the future:

  • How does grid integration work with fluctuating generation?
  • How can we ensure security of supply without fossil fuels?
  • How can we scale up and finance green technologies?
  • What role does hydrogen play in long-term storage?
  • How can we create CO₂-free neighborhoods and industrial parks?

Innovation, Start-ups & Awards

Start-ups, universities, and innovation clusters will present themselves in their own areas—such as the Start-up Area, the Innovation Hub, or as part of The smarter E AWARDS. Awards will be given to pioneering business models, technologies, and pilot projects in the fields of solar, storage, e-mobility, and energy efficiency.

Sustainability and digitalization as common denominators

Key cross-cutting topics include resource efficiency, circular economy, carbon footprints, and digital optimization. Numerous exhibitors will demonstrate how production processes can be made more sustainable, how battery storage can be recycled, and how AI-based systems can control electricity consumption more intelligently.

The smarter E Europe – A platform with impact

In addition to the exhibition, The smarter E Europe offers an extensive supporting program with conferences, lectures and networking events. Trade visitors have the opportunity to find out about current trends, discover innovative solutions and make valuable business contacts. The trade fair is the central meeting place for everyone who wants to play an active role in shaping the energy transition.
