Island hopping: every island in the Seychelles offers a unique experience

The Seychelles consist of numerous islands, each with its own character. Island hopping makes it possible to experience different facets of the archipelago. Mahé, the largest island, is the economic and cultural center. Praslin is known for the Vallée de Mai National Park, home to the legendary Coco de Mer palm tree. La Digue, on the other hand, impresses with its relaxed beaches and traditional way of life. In addition to the main islands, there are many smaller islands that entice visitors with their untouched nature and exclusive resorts.

Experience Creole culture up close on a Seychelles vacation

In addition to the impressive nature, it is the people that make the Seychelles special. The population is made up of African, Asian and European influences, which is reflected in their culture, music and way of life. Visitors have the opportunity to get to know the local population, experience traditional dances and be inspired by the relaxed island life. Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are cultural hotspots where you can immerse yourself in the Creole way of life.

Creole cuisine: a fusion of three continents

Seychellois cuisine combines flavors from Africa, Asia and Europe and offers a unique culinary variety. Rice, exotic spices and freshly caught fish are the basic elements of traditional dishes. Grilled fish, octopus curry and dishes with coconut milk are particularly popular. The combination of Indian curries, Asian influences and European herbs makes Creole cuisine a special experience.

Good accessibility with international flight connections

The Seychelles are easily accessible via various international flight routes. Direct flights from Germany are available seasonally with Condor and Discover Airlines. A direct flight takes around 10 hours. All year round there are connecting flights via the Middle East with Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways as well as via Africa with Ethiopian Airlines. There are currently no direct flights available from Berlin, but connections via important hubs such as Dubai or Addis Ababa still make the journey convenient.

Where are the Seychelles?

The Seychelles are a group of islands in the Indian Ocean, around 1,600 kilometers east of the African coast, between Kenya and Tanzania. They consist of 115 islands stretching south of the equator between 4 and 10 degrees south latitude. The main island of Mahé, where the capital Victoria is located, is the economic and cultural center of the archipelago. Geologically, the archipelago is one of the oldest granite islands in the world and therefore differs from many other tropical destinations, which mostly consist of coral islands. In addition to Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are among the best-known islands, while numerous smaller atolls and islands with untouched nature beckon. Surrounded by turquoise waters and rich coral reefs, the Seychelles offer an impressive mix of dream beaches, lush vegetation and exotic wildlife.
